The app stores your nutrition tracking data locally on your device:

  • Food logs and meal entries
  • Calorie and macronutrient information
  • Weight tracking and progress history
  • Daily and weekly nutrition summaries

Voice Data

When you use the voice logging feature:

  • Voice recordings are sent to OpenAI for transcription and food recognition
  • Recordings are processed in real-time and immediately deleted by OpenAI
  • Only the text transcription and nutritional analysis are saved locally
  • Voice data is never permanently stored by us or third parties

Subscription Information

If you subscribe to Kam Calorie PRO:

  • Subscription status is managed through Apple App Store
  • Payment information is handled exclusively by Apple
  • We use RevenueCat to verify subscription status
  • No payment card information is collected or stored by us

Information Usage

App Functionality

Your information is used to provide the core features of Kam Calorie:

  • Calculate personalized daily calorie and macro targets
  • Process voice recordings to recognize foods and estimate nutrition
  • Track your daily food intake and progress toward goals
  • Generate nutrition insights and weekly summaries
  • Provide meal suggestions based on your preferences

Analytics & Improvement

We analyze aggregated, anonymous usage data to:

  • Improve AI accuracy for Egyptian and Saudi cuisine recognition
  • Fix bugs and improve app performance
  • Understand which features are most helpful to users
  • Optimize the voice logging experience

Third Party Access

Kam Calorie uses the following third-party services to provide functionality:

  • OpenAI: Processes voice recordings for transcription and food recognition. Voice data is transmitted securely and deleted immediately after processing.
  • RevenueCat: Manages subscription status and validates PRO features. Only subscription information is shared.
  • Apple App Store: Processes all payments and manages subscriptions. We never receive your payment information.

These services operate under their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for them to function.

Data Restrictions

We are committed to protecting your privacy:

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone
  • We do not use your data for advertising purposes
  • We do not share your nutrition data with third parties
  • All data is stored locally on your device - we have no access to it
  • Voice recordings are never saved - only text transcriptions

Account Deletion

You have full control over your data:

  • Delete your account at any time from the app settings
  • All locally stored data is permanently deleted when you delete the app
  • You can export your data as CSV before deletion (PRO feature)
  • Deleting your account does not cancel active subscriptions (manage via App Store)

Since all data is stored on your device, uninstalling the app removes all your information.

Data Retention

Data retention policies:

  • Nutrition data: Stored locally on your device indefinitely until you delete it
  • Voice recordings: Immediately deleted after transcription (not stored)
  • Subscription data: Retained by RevenueCat for the duration of your subscription
  • Usage analytics: Anonymous data retained for service improvement

Security

We take data security seriously:

  • All data is encrypted on your device using iOS security features
  • Voice transmissions use secure HTTPS connections
  • We use industry-standard security practices for API communications
  • Regular security reviews and updates

While we implement strong security measures, no internet transmission is 100% secure. Please use the app responsibly.

Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last modified. Continued use of Kam Calorie after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
